New York Life - An Impressive History

In 1965, New York Life Insurance Company issued a whole life policy for $25,000 to a male age 35 with an annual premium of $582. This policyowner has received a dividend every year since 1967. For 26 consecutive years, the annual dividend has exceeded the annual premium.

New York Life has paid dividends to its participating policyowners for 156 successive years — since the mid-1800’s. Our history of financial strength and stability has propelled our company through dynamic social, political and economic times.

In the example below, the cumulative dividends shown are the total amount of dividends received by the policyowner on a year-by-year basis as of that point in time.

This is a yearly look back at the events that have shaped our world, our country and our company.

The New York Life Insurance Company was there. Where were you?
